AGDTP: Alpha 0.3


Hey, what's up!? This update is pretty significant. A lot of work went into improving how the game worked under the hood and changing a bunch of game mechanics. Due to this, most of the update isn't visible, but do you want to know what is visible? That, right:


Sprites!

NOTE: This image is not of the final 0.3 build.

AGDTP Alpha 0.3 features an ENTIRE art-style rework. Every sprite in the game has been updated! AWESOME!


New Boss!

The second most notable update is the addition of the Grasslands Region King: Nilmerg, the Gremlin Bee! Say hi to Nilmerg, everybody!


With the addition of Nilmerg comes a boatload of new content to explore! You can explore the changelog for a list of the new items, yum!



Accessories!

Need a stat boost or mobility upgrade? How about more inventory slots? Well now you can modify your player with Accessories!

Accessories are special items that sacrifice inventory slots for a boost in stats or a unique effect. Only a few accessories exist right now, but this mechanic will see great use in the future!


Region Shifting!

(Please forgive the extreme lack of a GIF :(.  )

If you're ever running low on natural resources to exploit. just shift the timeline with the new Region Shifting mechanic! Region shifting allows the player to transport their entire base into a brand-new world. This lets the player maintain their wave count while being allowed to explore new content. While this mechanic has little use in this update, it will be used in the future to travel between multiple regions during a gameplay session. Great fun!




The Power/Energy Bank System!

AGDTP's machines will now utilize a Power bank to draw energy from. This will prevent the player from being able to rely entirely on turret spam and introduces new strategy regarding the most efficient use of power!



AGDTP major update lightning round!

Let me be totally honest, there were a stupid amount of gameplay changes this time around. I've tried my best to summarize them with this changelog, but you're not going to understand the full scope of this update unless you play the game ;).

- Conflated all workbench menus into a Super Menu that can be accessed at all times!

- Added an upgrade menu that allows the player to spend essence for permanent upgrades!

- Added new items of all types!

- Expected minimum gameplay time: 2 hours.
